How you can help

Volunteer with us

Volunteering is a great way to get involved, make new friends and play an active role in supporting people to achieve a better life. Here at The Finsbury Park Homeless Families Project we always welcome new volunteers. So whether it's volunteering to support children, adults or helping out the charity itself we'd be delighted to hear from you.

All our volunteers receive full CRB checks and undergo induction and role specific training and we provide on-going support. We are a small, friendly team working at the front line of homelessness. You are welcome to join us if you are interested in helping us to make a difference and can provide roles in the following areas:

  • Playwork
  • Advice and Advocacy
  • Office Administration
  • Fundraising
  • Mentoring
  • Interpreting

If you are interested in volunteering then please do get in touch. You can come along for a chat and a cup of tea to see what we do and decide if volunteering with us is something you'd like to do.

"I escaped from my homeland and came to London. I had no choice but to leave my daughter behind and tried very hard to get her to come here too. I am strong and succeeded but it was a terrible time for us, in the UK we were thrown out of where we were staying and became homeless. I became desperate and depressed and then Nuala at the Finsbury Park Homeless Families project came into my life. They helped us with housing and education and gave me a lot of emotional support. Now we are settled and I am now volunteering with the FPHFP to help families in the way that Nuala helped me…many thanks to the Project."
